    Okay, so puffers are out...

Basslet, should I place them first my aquarium or can I put him in after my clownfish?

I have never had a Basslet, but I was thinking of adding one a few months ago. From everything I read and received advice on, even the smaller guys can pack an attitude. For this reason, you would want to add it last (or just before any fish that were more aggressive). But I would wait to hear from someone else with experience keeping them.

LAs description of the royal gramma basslet's temperment is peaceful. So my thinking would be to introduce them first, but I want more information on them as well.

Well I did a have had Royal Gramma (when I think of Basslet, I am thinking more of Chalk, Swissguard, etc). I can tell you that mine was not a very nice fish. He was the first addition and attacked all newcomers to the tank. If anyone went near his "home" (the entire back of the 55) he would chase and/or try to nip them. During feeding, he would go after any fish that tried to get any food near him, even if he already had his fill.

So basically, for me I did not find them to be the best of tankmates. It hid all day except for feeding, and otherwise was a beast. I know others have had different experiences with them, not being nearly aggressive. But given my experience, if you do get one, I would have it be one of the last additions.

Thanks for the info on the royal gramma. All the fish I plan on getting seem to be semi-aggressive. I guess I will be watching them all closely.

just a little fish to look at. I have a little lyretail hawkfish and it is such a cool fish. I know there are other types of hawkfish as well. They are perchers in that he swims around and perches on rocks. He's got a great personality and just does his own thing - doesn't bother anybody and doesn't appear to have a "territory". Just my one experience - I had never looked at keeping hawkfish before I got this one and just love it. Also very colorful.
