    I can't remember how their letters work, is this one of their quiet models?

    I used to have a Little Giant. It worked flawlessly for years and cranked. I insulated the tank stand with bed foam to keep the sound down.

    * Magnetic Drive
    * Salt or Fresh Water
    * Motor: 1/10hp
    * Voltage: 115V
    * Amperage: 1.3A
    * Wattage: 145W
    * Flow Rates: 1325gph @ 1ft head; 1225gph @ 3ft head; 1080gph @ 6ft head; 800gph @ 10ft head
    * Inlet/Outlet: 1in FNPT / 1in MNPT
    * Max Head: 17ft
    * Max PSI: 7.4
    * Shut-Off Head: 14ft
    * Dimensions (L x W x H): 11in x 5.5in x 5.3in
    * Cord Length: 6ft

    I intend to use it on a 75gal tank with a 40gal fuge, future 20gal frag tank, phos reactor, and carbon reactor. Ill put a ball valve on the return to restrict flow until I get my fluidized reactors going.

    This is an inwall setup so the pump will be on the floor in the room that houses the tank/fuge/etc. The room is insulated and should be quiet enough.

    I figure for $80 in comparison to the $289 Iwaki pump I was looking at, in this economy, is a great deal.

    I only need ~800GPH flow to the DT. So I know this is total overkill, but for $80!

    On a 75 normal height at 3ft head it will deliver about 1000 GPH maybe more like 850 to 900 gph tops as most aquarium trade pumps rae way over rated in their delivery performace .
    And on a 75 there is no reason to try and move 800 GPH through a sump and its not going to happen anyways with a standard 1" drain line about 400 to 500 gph max is all you want going through the sump past the skimmer and that pump new sells for about 180.00 and they tend to seize up on the front bearings if its ever been soaked with saltwater .. But a good pump

    Thanks for the input tangster. I know its overkill for sure, but for $80 it seems so worth it. I have a 1" and 1.5" pre-drilled drain. Both of which are going to be in use at the same time in a herbie setup for backup. The 1.5" being the primary drain.

    I measured and I will have just about 3.5' of head. So with a ball valve on there until I get the fluidized reactors, I can restrict it back to about 600GPH.

    I was going to get an Iwaki pump originally. Their 900GPH pump and use that for the reactors and return but its $130 more than this deal.

    edit: then again it wouldnt be much of a deal if the thing seized up in the first week of operation.

    We have them out on lots of systems a good pump put they tend to wear out on that front bearing when or if ever they get soaked in saltwater or salt creep , But don't get carried away with busting to much water through the sump 4x's is all you really want for optimum skimmer efficiencies

    I try to pass about 400 to 450 gph through the sump with this 90 gal .

    I have use that Little Giant pump and it worked great. Really quiet. KOgle has a couple running on his system in his family room and can't even hear them running. I would get it.
