Vermatids are a pain in the butt. So far I know of no way to kill them. They will multiply fast and throw their webs over corals preventing them from opening. Let know if you find a way to kill them.

any good way of getting rid of these guys?? I've got 2 vermetid's inside a candy cane coral whose sweeper mucas is damaging the flesh of the coral and also keeping it from growing around them much making a gaping hold in the colony kind of. I thought I read somewhere that just breaking and pulling them out doesn't work as they will burrow down in the tube and even if you break it off they will end up growing back?

Thats when I first noticed vermitids in my tank, when they were irritating my neon candy cane. The single head slowly died and I blame them. You can put a drop of super glue right over/in their tube. That will kill them.

The tiny anemones with balls on the tentacles look like a type of baby majeno. i have those same things in my tank. Is that what you are referring to? Or the feather duster?

Personally, the only problems I've ever had with them is that their tubes cut my skin if I rub against them. Other than that, I have never had an issue with them.
