I just picked up some live rock from a local guy that was recently submerged in fresh RO (no salt) for a few days. He took it out of his dt because it had some hair algae on it. What's the best procedure for making it safe to put in my DT. Its a shame cause it has some great purple color to it. I have it in a 5 gallon bucket with salt water and a power head right now. What is the best thing to do next?!?

If your tank is already up and running I would leave the rock in the bucket and start testing the water until it cycles. If your tank is still cycling I would probably just put add the rock and allow everything to cycle together.

Tanks up and running. I'll let it cycle in a bucket
