I've got a freshwater aquarium with several different types of live plants. They are overtaking the tank! I have some water lillies that are out of control! How do I keep them under control? I don't want the plants to die if I cut them! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

You need to slowly remove the floating leaves to train the plant to stay under water.

You need to prune the other plants also. Post a pic so we can help you with each plant.

What plants do you have besides the Lilys? Like said, slowly removing the plants, making sure not to tear the roots (Any roots left behind will decay and leave ammonia), will be your best way of solving this problem.
