    how do you get rid of bristle worms? can i dip my live rock in ro water

    I've used Melafix Marine from API with 100% positive results, but that was before I learned that the majority of bristleworms are not only harmless, but a naturally-occurring part of the CuC. The Hawaiian Fireworm is the only one you really don't want.

    are your 100% postive results on removing bristle worms? thats my goal i know some are beneficial i just dont like them

    Yes. They were on/in a rock on which a new coral was mounted. Mixed a gallon of tank water with the recommended amount of MM and dipped for 15 minutes. Never saw another bristleworm. :)

    The problem with dipping in freshwater is that you will most likely kill your biological filter.

    You will get rid or your worms however, you will kill all the bacteria you want and all the good algaes. I would not do it.

    They feed on waste. So, if you have lots, that means you are feeding more than your fish are eating. I'm with others though, bristle worms are extremely efficient detritivores and are a great thing to have in your tank.

    Yes, as they feed on most anything including waste matter.

    that explains alot so i have a crammed up 24g aquapod with four fish so the bristle worms feed on their waste so what do get rid of two fish?
