I bought live rock about three days ago and have put it in my tank. One piece has started to go white, is this a problem or should i take it out?

It's pretty normal. The coraline and other algage may be dying off or being eaten from transport or just being out of the water. No big deal.

make sure all your parameters are in check first of all. if everything checks out its probably just a small amount of die off before you were able to get it into the tank. With time and the proper conditions it'll all grow back.

same thing happened to me when I first started.

Is it hard and look almost like dried toothpaste? It's probably die-off from the shipping process and new tank params, but in time it will grow back. Mine started to die off around late February and it is almost fully recovered now. So just give it time.

This is totally normal. Die off and or bleaching of the algae happens do to new light and being through the transportation to get to you. It will come back
