ok i have had my tank for about 2 and half years ive never really liked the way i have had my rock and i was thinking about taking it all out and maybe gluing the rock the way i want it. The problem is almost all of my rock is covered in coraline algae and alot of my rock have zoas i would love to keep alive. So what i was thinking was take it all out and dry the parts im going to glue and keep my zoas and the rest of the rock covered in wet paper towel. soo i guess what im wondering is will this work or do yall have orther ideas that may work any help would be awesome thanks

no need to let dry for gluing/epoxy all is underwater safe =) super glue is a pain to work w/ underwater but it will cure. if u let the air hit your coraline you will experience some die off

You'll get die-off from your coralline, but it'll grow back in no time.. I wouldn't let coralline stop you from re-scaping. In the end it'll make you happier and love your tank more.

i posted this yesterday might interest you its a ovc stand that i built for my rock to sit on it keeps a gap between the sand and supports all the rock for plenty of coral shelving and heaps of hiding places

it has to dry out not just be exposed, i was refering more to when u do a tank water change it will usually die where the water was drained to.

You might get a small die-off if it's actually exposed to air; if it still has a small amount of water on it like it's damp, it should be fine. Sponges and tunicates are the things to seriously worry about when transporting live rock, as air bubbles WILL kill them.

ok i agree with that. usually if you keep it damp wrapped up in paper towel it will be ok. when i go to get live rock i take a 5 gallon bucket of sw with me and take it home in that. works like a charm.
