Hello 3reefers I found this deal on craigslist where this guy is selling 75lbs of cured live rock. I know I need to be weary about these craigslist deal from strangers, but I will probably dry the rock out anyways. What are your opinions? Ohh yeah the person is selling it for $1 per lbs. Thanks!

$1 Isn't a bad deal at all if you are going to kill off everything on it. With that said, who knows what would be getting into if not. I prefer the dry route so that I know what is in my tank. reefcleaners has dry rock for around $2 a lb. I believe, and its AMAZING! Wish I would have purchased all my rock from them (even with the rest of it being given to me).

I'd say if you're going to kill it, do it. Just make sure it's dead! lol. As you said, you should be leery of other peoples stuff.

I have purchased rock I am not sure of...dried it out in a spare oven at 190 degrees...for good measure.
