    Ok what positioms should yave have em in? Also should they bear near top or bottom of the tank or does it not matter

    Adjust them so they dont move sand but where they blow over the rock.

    You will play with them many times until you are satisfied.

    What type of flow you want also depends on the types of corals and to a certain extent some fish.

    I like mine on each end but not opposing each other, so the direction flow moves in a circle like formation. I also like the surface to have a lot of agitation, this assist in gas exchange and may assist with maintaining a higher more stable pH.

    If you have a overflow and skimmer do you think its neccessary to agitate the surface? I wouldnt think so

    That was going to be my question as well devinh i dont have an overflow but will have a skimmer

    It's something I have always done and yes I do have an overflow presently.

    If it's good enough for the ocean it's good enough for me. Every overflow is different, some just go a small distance to the mechanical filtration, some a larger distance down the plumbing, but is it exposed to gas change as readily?

    I like a tumbling surface, may not be every ones cup of tea.

    +1 on surface movement for me

    I have 4 powerheads in a 5ft tank and 2 of them are pointed upwards and outwards along the surface, giving me a very good rippling effect across the full surface 5ft x 18 inches
