So the past 2 days the left side of my tanks live rock is turning brilliant white. The whole Side of one rock is almost pure white now. my sea urchin has been on that side of the tank for a while now also?
Any clue as to why rock turns white. I tried to scratch it my finger nail and noting happened. I have no way to upload a pic tonight. But it's covering the whole side of my rock(just the tops not in any of the holes and pits).

The urchin is eating the coralline off the rock.

The rock he is on doesn't have coraline onnit, but it is a light green with regular algae. Now it's turning white... I'll follow him around the tank but I've had him for 2 weeks and this is the first case.

Then it's just eating the green algae off of the rock. It can't get into the holes & crevices. My rock shows white where the emeralds pick the coralline off.

Yes the urchin is enjoying a delicatessen with your algae.
