Looking for some advice on living rock. I had lots of live rock in my tank and felt it was too much so I removed half (over a period of time)
And put it in a sealed bucket in my garage with the intention of throwing it away!
I've read that any rock put in a salt water aquarium will eventually become "living" ie you could put a house brick in tank and it will eventually have bacteria living on it (not that I intend to put a house brick in).
Assuming this to be true, could I introduce a piece of the "garage rock" back into the tank?????

    Advice would be welcome!!

The quick answer is yes.Depending on how long it has been in the garage bucket with no water movement.I would clean it,let it air dry soak in ro water, clean agin and air dry one more time. Then I would put it back in my tank.

Clean it for sure yes. Was it sitting in the bucket in saltwater or in there dry? And for how long? depending on how long, you could have a lot of dead spots, if not the whole rock could be full of dead matter and if you place that in your tank right away your tank may go into a cycle. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk and I would re-cure it first before just plopping it back into the tank to make sure it is back alive and well with little to no dead matter to prevent a cycle. Good Luck.
