live sand and base rock

    i have a 90 gallon tank and im almost ready to cycle. if i buy 140 lb of live sand,45 lb live rock and 50 lb base will i be safe? im going to use about 10lb sand and 5lb live rock in refugium.

    what do you mean by 'be safe'? Do you mean will you have enough rock and sand?

    You should be fine with 95lbs of rock. You may want to add more eventually to get a 'true' reef tank, about 1.5lbs per gallon, and for asthetics, but your should be fine.

    can i use 100 lb of live sand and 50 lb of reg sand?
