Livestock for the fuge??

    What should be kept in a sucessful fuge? ie snails etc. How much? I have a 17 gal on my 46. Have microalgae, bio sand etc, but looking for inhabitants.

    Theoretically, you don't want to add anything to your refugium. That's why it's a refuge for what grows there.

    Not necessarily, people (me included) also use them as a biological filter of sorts, macros, DSB, sand sitters, filter feeders, waste eaters, etc. A five can really be whatever is wanted or needed. I know I will be setting up a DF in a little while, kind of the opposite of its purpose, but if done right can be beneficial.
