    Hi ,
    Prob 1 :
I have am now in the process off raising my mag to kill the nasty outbreak off byropsis in my tank.
I had it on what i though was just two small rocks so i removed them to my QT tank with no light but once my cyano had all cleared up it revealed i had the bryopsis on another two rocks which again i was going to remove & put them in mt OT tank but on a further close study off my tank i have found many tiny , almost microscopic patches of the byropsis all over the tank so i figure there is no longer any point in QT the rock as its every where! so although its not visable really im going to treat my hole tank by removing as much by hand in some off my tank water, then im going to raise my mag slowly for 4-5 weeks to HOPEFULLY KILL the Bl**DY stuff!

    Prob 2 -
After readibg a helpful tread on hear i discovered i also have the pleasure off having Lobophora sp! ( It just not my luck really)
So im pretty stumped on this one as i have not even had a chance to google it so if anyone could give me a plan off action on this one that would be great & also if anyone has had this how did they deal with it?!
Mine is a very red colour and almost looks like a fingus that grows around the bottom off a tree! I first though it was the good coriline algea but hey chance would be a fine thing! I have had both outbreaks speed up in the last 2 weeks due to forgeting to change my rowaphos filter media! (oops) and my phosphate has rocketed but i have 2 loads off rowaphos arriving tomorrow so i hope this will quickly lower it.
I have some picture here so you can give me a second opp on if its def Lobophora sp ( I would quite like someone to say it something really good)

    Thanks K

P.S I am keeping my head up & will fight the rubbish algeas all the way!;D

Good luck with the bryopsis. I didn't have any luck with anything but bleach.

If you want, you can do what I did to get rid of the bryopsis. Buy the underwater epoxy that is used to cement lr together and place small patches over the spots throughout the tank, make sure that none of the bryopsis is showing. I left it on for about 2 months to ensure it was dead and haven't had in my tank since.

the only way i found to get rid of it surely. is turn you lights off for a month. if you have livestock you can put the rocks in a tub with a heater.

Now i thought this but inwall said that it will grow back in the end & the only was to get rid is to bleach the rock.

I do have a nano reef set up all cycled and im considering moving my live stock there then raising the mag & turning out the lights in my d tank for 5 weeks! well that was one off my ideas till inwall told me no light would not kill it!

    Thanks K

Now i was considering this method to but then i took a good look at my tank & there are loads off mini micro patches off it all over the rock & the chances are ill miss a patch!
