Does anyone have any data on loss of flow through loc-line? Or any personal experience to share?

I'm having to squeeze my return flow a little, through the loc-line ... it's a long story ... I was just curious.

Return flow should be just that, return flow! I mean that everything that is run from your filtering system should be rated for your filtering system.
The flow/current in your tank should be designed to be individual to the rest of your filtering equiptment. HTH...

    No, sorry, my question is

do you know anything about the specific internal fluid mechanics of loc-line?

It's not very streamlined inside, and typically smaller in diameter than the plumbing lines which lead to it.

I'm wondering about the price you pay, in gph, for the convenience of using it.

    Just wondering, no big deal.

ok I would imagine that their would be some loss and it would be multiplied as the number of conections increase (each join increase would equal more turbulant line flow)but as for detailed data I realy wouldnt know were to direct you
maybee some high proformance CNC machining sites,
I belive it was origanly made for this purpose.
Possibly you could find a flow ratio between 3/8" , 1/2" and 3/4" line at a marked head presure this may be a help to you .

I dont use loc line - but can you break the link and have the water coming out the system
without using the loc line, becuase if you can seperate you can measure

take a 2 gallon bucket - and some hose - time how long it takes to fill bucket
add loc line and re do procedure

you will then have a very accurate idea of what flow restriction you have in terms of a %
