Hello I am a noob when it comes to reef , I live right by the beach in ny the i was wondering if i could use the natural water from the harbor . I would of course filter it with a poly pad before use. I was just curiouse be that I walk the shore everyday and see how clear the water is. In thesummer tward the end of august i go netting and get lookdowns , jack cravalla and pompanos not that i would put them in reef was just questioning the water quality.

The shores are the oceans protein skimmers.. I would never get any water from any shores or beaches... I would take a boat out as far as you can till you get some nice clear ocean water IMO.

NYC ocean water is not reef water.
Using that stuff in your tank will wreck havoc.

FROM NEW YORK CITY! only Pace salsa for me.

Joking aside, yeah,if I was down in the keys with a boat,i'd consider it.But thinking of everything dumped in your whole region,I wouldn't use it.
