The sand will depend on how deep you want the sand, whether you bought live and the size of the sand.

It does sound as though you have every thing needed to add water once it is all here and put together.

If you are going to have a lot of flow go with the coarse. I have sugar fine sand and it moves around a lot with high flow.

Does it make your water cloudy? I think I would like the look of the fine sand more. Maybe I'll try 40 lb fine and 40 lb coarse

I have carib-sea sugar fine aragonit sand in my 29g. It makes the water cloudy if I point my Koralia nano (425goh) powerheads at it. Normally I have my powerheads to the middle-top of the glass though, so sand moves along the bottom a bit, but not enough to make the water cloud up. Just don't get a goby or a fish that will dig in the sand if you want sugar-fine.

I do like the look of it though.

Just built a 75g myself, I ordered 160lbs. sugar sand from Marco's it gave me a good 4"+ of sand bed. It does get stired up alot just from the clowns digging to china, why dont know. The t12's will be fine from what i seen thursday. The guy that gave me the montis, frogspawn and kenya had 6 t12's on his 120 gallon. All of the corals in his tank were huge, then i see the t12's no way. The halids will put off alot of heat so plan on a chiller.

The bulbs are on the warm side thats for sure lol. The guy I bought it from said he didn't have a chiller and it didn't get above 82. Im hoping with winter around the corner it will be okay at first. Chillers are damn expensive! lol

Thanks for the info on the t12s. you don't hear a lot about those!

lots coming up this week here! All my plumbing is finished and leak tested. There is a little drip of water coming from the area where i drilled and installed my glass-holes bulkhead / elbow. Gotta fix that somehow.. Im afraid to tighten it much more i don't want to crack the glass?

the water drips from under the round plastic piece between the elbow and glass..

also, his water level must have been higher because i dont think this return should be shooting water out of this hole

anyways the overflow runs much quieter than i imagined! very pleased with that, you can hardly hear it at all. Glass-Holes has my vote.

The Spectrapure refurbished RO/DI will be at the door today. Placed and order for marcorock and sand today -- it shipped two hours later! Hows that for great service?!

    Much more updates next week
