That happens in clowns when establishing sex and dominance. It is sad, but a way of life for them.

I know I did feel bad for him. I figured they were establishing sex, I bought them together when they were young, still orange colored not all the way black yet. The female just kept getting bigger and darker, she would bully him but I figured it's what clowns do. I guess they just couldn't work things out. She doesn't seem to mess with the angel.

I don't think she will mess with the angel either. It is to bad that not all clowns can get along.

too bad there isnt such thing as a counseling shrimp. They might have been able to sit and talk things thru instead of murdering him... RIP Clown.

the big zoa colony in the back there has been dying and fading away for a few weeks now. Not sure what to do with it. Have of the polyps have disappeared and only about 2 or 3 of whats left even open

Oh crap, sorry about the clown. Despite the pretty look, they could be really mean..

Ive heard about melting zoas before tho. Other corals are thriving, and one specific zoa dissipates.

Oh and btw - I threw in some filter socks with my BRS order ;) lol

I want to share this picture here too, I had it in another thread I started. But I finally blew all the dust off my rocks, here's a 50% progress shot from the other day
