It's tricky if you don't read the instructions first. It's got a red pointer that turns and also a blue disc with temps on it that turns. You're supposed to move only the red part to the correct temp of the tank before putting it in, and then dial the blue to the temp you want. I was just moving the blue to dial it in, I wondered why I had it pointed at 81 and was 77 degrees in my tank lol. So pretty much if the reds not synced with the blue, you'll get wrong temp readings.

Thanks Atticus! I'm gonna shoot for 78 night and 79 day. I got the 250w heater and it's over 17" I'm thinking about getting two 125 or two 150w's so I can fit them in my sump. They're 12-13" which is still tight but will work.

Thanks fish! It's an swc 120. I won't be able to have a big bioload with that skimmer, but the 160 wouldn't fit in my sump chamber.

thanks! I moved the powerheads to try to get more turbulent flow on the frag rack and angled the return nozzle to agitate the water surface more. The acro frags are still extending polyps and not losing color yet. It's only been a week, but I was worried when I lost the birdsnest.

you can see the crab too on the zoa rock. That bulldozer knocks one of those off almost daily lol

Youll be fine with the frags you got, as long as you keep the param stable, which I know you're on top of.

Looks like you beat the cyano as well! Its been almost 4 months mark! Any sign of coralline?

yup no sign of the cyano for about 2 weeks now! ;D and it feels good lol

you know I didn't think I had any coralline yet, but after you asked I got the flashlight out and took a closer look. There's a few pink and green dots here and there. Not noticeable yet, but maybe it's on it's way!

One of the easier ways to tell if it is: try to brush it off. If it comes off, its algae (or something else) if not, congrats, coralline! :)

Nice!! (well I knew it was coralline from what you described :) ) Good idea to get some from your LFS. Make sure its in the water the whole time on the way home.

I got a little from them awhile ago, but just kinda dumped it in the tank. This time I'm gonna make sure it gets on some rocks and leave the powerheads off a few hours.

It also might be time to get the two part kit from BRS. I'm still dosing that brightwell aquatics to keep my alk between 7-8, and calcium is dropping a little now (which I have a bottle for too). Just seems simpler and more stable than using the bottles.

Man, I'm gonna need a cabinet or something for all this stuff, there's just not room under my stand anymore :p
