Logan's 75g - It's been fun!!

I got the fine. I really like it, looks great (the course looked less white on their webpage). The live sand i got from the pet store was also very fine and white. I layered them and sprinkled a little live sand on the top. I think pouring the water onto the bubble wrap instead of stirring up the sand helped a lot, because its about 3/4 of the way full now and its a little cloudy, but I can see through it. I expected it to be worse.

Well its been about a week now so heres an update. The bulkhead was leaking out the back again (about a drop or two per minute). So i drained enough water and took the overflow apart again. The glass was chipped a little when I drilled, so i added silicone around the edges of the hole and it's drying now. Hopefully this takes care of it because I've tried about everything else (plumbers grease, thread seal tape, etc)






Hopefully I'll get a FTS with the aquascape and lights on after work tonight.

 

what do you guys think of the rocks? I took them out of the box and put that together in my first try. I really like it, but i don't know if I should experiment a little more

Sweet build, rocks look great! That big one balancing on the other two big ones on the right would make me nervous tho! Did that live sand start up your cycle?

 

every things sitting sturdy though. their rocks really fit together nicely! I'm not sure if it did or not, I need to go buy some testing kits tomorrow, nitrate nitrite and ammonia right? I plan on buying a piece of live rock to throw in there as well
