    Thanks Smitty!

yeah the LFS. Well not a mom and pop store, but a chain, does that still count as a "lfs"? lol. I got the acan for 10 bucks and the acro for 20...

It's the store that my buddy runs the reef set up there, he just got a new 125g with 3 halide pendants, but they are really small bulbs and not as bright as mine. I put them 27" away from my bulbs, wondering if I should put the acan under an overhang in some shade though?

Acan should be fine where it is right now, lighting wise. If the bright light makes you anxious or if it bleaches in any way, you can put some paper or something to make a shade temporarily.

Looking at the rockwork, I see a flat spot I'd really like to put it in a week or so. Is it okay to have these facing the front glass instead of facing up towards the light?

Are you talking about the acan or the acro for the spot? Id try not to place either of them side way since they are good sized colonies.. You should find other spot.

oh sorry I didn't clarify I was talking about the acan. Thanks maybe I'll just leave it where it is. The acro I'll move up a few inches a week til I find a sweet spot.

Sounds like a good plan! Just keep a close eye on the acro.

Man, you get really good deals!

For sure, I didn't want another this soon, but to be honest the guy working there didn't have a clue what anything was. He was just guessing on prices. I felt like for 20 dollars it was worth a shot lol

Please tell me I was right in passing on the brain there, b/c I really wanted it! But for future reference, stuff like that is cause for concern right?

    Heck yeah!

When in doubt, dont do it. You can always go back like a week later if its still there and take a look, see if its gotten better or worse. Most of the time, its worse..
