I know right!? I did notice a 2 degree temperature swing yesterday. And the new powerhead placement blew up more sand behind the rocks.

I got some more research to do when I get off work. Acros just haven't liked my tank thus far. I didn't even want another this soon but for $20 I had to try

So how is the Alk level right now? If you keeping track, can you post it (I know you have been)? While you're at it, other params as well..

    Hello
I am just wondering the parameters like below.
pH, KH, Ca, Mg, PO4 and NO3
Do you add bacteria regularly? How deep it the sand in the display tank?

I have the same size tank and had similar problem before which is SPS corals are dying.
What I did is to replace half LR with new one. Siphoning sand half and put new Live Sand. Add BioDigest every two weeks. Then I can maintain SPS now.

I sighted the crab again tonight. The dip didn't kill it. Maybe I need some CoralRX, I'm using Brightwell MediCoral now.

I read the most common cause of RTN is un-stable params, but they've been pretty good since that acro was added just a week ago

Could it be the cabbage or finger leather releasing toxins? I'm running carbon..

Maybe my tank just doesn't like acros. Which would suck!

(I know I still don't have a PO4 test, BRS was sold out my last order. LFS has crappy tests. I really don't think it's an issue though I'm running fresh GFO constantly and don't have any algae outbreaks)

It's kinda like this? (the top row is hidden in the screen shot, so I guessed. )

If you wanna keep the top row to show at all time ("| Date | Temp | pH | Ca |....."), use the "Freeze Panes" option from "View". It might be under different tab, but look for "Freeze Panes" on Excel. :)

    Hello
I am not sure what a kind of SPS you had before, but you might start from easy SPS first such as Birdnest or Montipora. From my experience, deep water acropora is hard to maintain. Also, it might be good idea to buy frags.

All parameters on your tank look fine, but you might lower the temp because high temp encourage to increase bacteria population.
