+1 for the updated sump with the bigger skimmer chamber! When I was designing the sump, I had a certain skimmer in mind (and I bought it later), so I built the sump around it. I really recommend the SWC Xtreme Cone skimmer (160), which is what I have and tt has 9x7" foot print, which is relatively small.
I dont think it would cause any issue if you put sump off line for a couple of days. Needless to say, get whatever you need before you go offline and be prepared.

Thanks, might as well make the best of a bad situation right? :p
Hows the noise on the skimmer you have? My tanks in the living room, and the SeaClone my roommate had has a really loud pump. The Berlin I had hooked up before was whisper quiet compared to this thing lol

My skimmer is quiet, it never bothered us. The tank is in the living room as well. But it's my first one ever, I dont know other skimmers... Maybe others can chime in on this..?

That skimmer you recommended looks like a beast!! Now I just need to talk myself into spending the $$ on it :p

BigAlsPets is a site I stumbled upon last night and it seems to be pretty good, has anyone used them? After half an hour on there my cart already has the 120 skimmer (they have it on sale) a 1400 koralia a Jager 250 heater and an API calcium test kit. Hmmm

Thanks! 3reef wouldn't work but I searched their forum on here and using BACKUP10 did it. :)

I hope the 120 skimmer will be good enough I couldn't find any 160's on their site. Getting 10% off sealed the deal for me, thanks for mentioning it! Looks like I've got a couple new toys coming in the mail. Now lets hope I can fix that leak :p

Yea, now that I look back when I got my 160, I had waited for a month for them to get them in stock..

So did you get the 120 skimmer?

The clowns look pretty happy. They stick together most all the time. They got some character they're cool to watch! The two spot goby has been MIA for about 2 days. I think he's probably hiding under some rock somewhere but idk

Ive been testing ammonia and nitrites every day and both have stayed at zero since the cycle ended. Nitrates are still under or around 20. I'll be doing a somewhat large water change this week though when the stuff comes in and I drain the water to take apart the bulkhead.
