Well doign some more research and figuring out about the ph, ive decided to run my return half in/half out of the water to get a better o2/co2 exchange. My ph has never dropped below 7.8 but has never increased. All my params are in check, mag at 1280,calcium run good bout 450-500 (cleaner shrimp sheds every 2 weeks now since ive had him). Dkh is running bout 11.5, nitrates bout 10, 0 on all the others, run a constant 78-80 temp depending on the crazy weather here. I dont have a closed lid top but a canopy with open back (could be causing the prob). Reverse lighting on my fuge. All my stuff is going great with good coral growth and such.

What do you guys think is goign on with my ph, nothign is stressing in my tank at all, everythign is happy and thriving. Anyone think I should leave it alone or try and get it adjusted?

Before trying any additives, try increasing the amount of fresh air in the room the tank is in. Try opening a window in the morning or at night, whenever the temperature outside is bareable. You'll be surprised with the results. Having too much Co2 in your house is usually the problem for most.

Also, try using another test kit. If your PH is always at 7.8 between day and night time, thats pretty hard to do. I run reverse lighting in my sump and I still get a .1 -.3 change of PH.

ya, I wish I could, sometimes its 70 before i go to work then come back and bam 45 its stupid weather here. Never gonna add any additives unless its calcium or mag and thats it. Learned the hard way with red slime remover. Ill try opening the window near the tank now and see. Ugg i hate virginia beach weather

You don't need to have a window open all day. I open mine for no more then 30 mins. It's pretty dusty and sometimes HOT in Vegas, so i don't do it for too long either...

    Something is better then nothing..

There's a good test of CO2 levels outlined here:
