Lol weird testing tonite

Excellent set up. You say nothing died but with a tank that young you never know what could have been hiding in the live rock. Add some live bacteria at 2X the marine dose to help the biological environment. If something did die off, your tank should be able to break down that .50 ppm in a couple of days.

 

never heard of the live bacteria, were do I get some of that. Lol and have crazy amount of algae but no red slime woot. Havent had a trace of that in 2 weeks now thats a huge achievement for me since i had it for a month

 

Check your LFS for "Cycle" brand (less expensive) but if you have the cash, this is a good one; HydroClearâ„¢ Nitrification Cycle Bio-Filter Starter Bacteria Blend by Russell Technologies

 

werd ill def get that and dose the tank and help it out. Im done addign fish for now till i get my 4ft long tank setup.

 

I used "One and Only" to start my tank. Setting up a new aquarium: Ammonia Removal: One And Only Nitrifying Bacteria by Dr Tim's Aquatics

It's live bacteria and their eggs. It works really fast. I used the fishless method and put in Ammonia. Within 12 hour already seeing Ammonia go down and Nitrite go up. Amazing product.

 

k guys, it was my stupid test kit i had lfs test the water my ammonia is bad and showing 0 but the nitrates are accurate blah they wont ever go down. Im goign to replace whole test kit next payday and see the new results. Blah thx guys for letting me know, still gonna go with live bacteria to get this coraline thriving.

 

Either getting the live bacteria or just get a squeeze of a filter from an existing tank will do. Know any one in your area? May be your LFS won't mind giving you a bit of dirty water.
