I feed my tank once every 2-3 days. I give them nori or romaine lettuce on clips daily.

Haha i have a picky clown too... he does the exact same thing, but when the lights are on he will venture out.. Id say give the fellow some time and once there a couple more neutral inhabitants hell begin to scout a bit, or you can even try manually hosting.. Ive heard of people placing their clown and a particular coral in a butter tub for 30 mins with the light off and once back in the tank they will host it... But ive never tried it, i just know a couple people had some success... Check compatibility first!
    Best of luck

My clowns are the same they have claimed the filter....I feed once a day...and once a week I skip a day...you would think I never feed them...they are always hunger I think...
They get brine shrimp and blood worms...
Should I be giving them other stuff....they don't like flakes at all...

Thank for the reassurance. Hopefully once I get the tank built up some more he may find a new spot or at least come out to play for a bit. I don't feed all the food to them at every feeding. I switch it up between each feeding. Is 2x per day too much. My tang goes crazy at each feeding whipping around the tank trying to get as much as he can. You'd think I was starving him.

2x a day is no to much, it all depends on how much you feed them each time... just keep it to 2 very small meals a day and you should be fine.. you tank will let you know if your feeding to much, Just keep check parameters if you decide to change the feeding habits...

I feed mine one small meal a day

i have a clown (occellaris) that has hosted a frogspawn coral. he is everyone's favourite because he is constantly swimming in and out of it which is pretty cute! he is also the only fish i have that will actually attack my hand when its in the aquarium.

    Exact same experience here.

BTW - your phosphates look high to me... probably a result of either water (are you using RO/DI) or overfeeding. Probably overfeeding. EDIT: like said above, your params will tell you if you are overfeeding. I think that is exactly right.

I feed once every 2-3 days like others have said.

I also have 2 clowns that are all over my tank during the day and they also hang out a lot with my 2 Blue Green Chromis all day. But at night they live at the top of the tank right behind my HYDOR KORALIA 4 water pump. They just seem to like it there.

My clown loves to hide behind my hang on tank filter he hides behind the downspouts when the lights are out. During the 'day' he swims all around the tank with the two dalmatian mollies but soon as the lights go out hes hiding near the surface behind the filter. It's his little safe spot when it's dark.
