What a long day this was. Woke up thinking I had nothing to do today. Did my normal additives and friday morning water tests and then noticed my koran angel was not looking good. Off to work on the fix I went. After hours of posting and asking question I came to the conclusion it was ick which I had not treated properly a week earlier and therefore all my fish had it again. So after working the whole day on my new sea horse tank I decided to take the live rock out of it and treat my sick fish in there. Mainly because it has an in tank fuge with chaeto and a UV filter running. Finally about 10pm I manage to pull all my rock and coral and start transfering my fish. Has anyone ever tried to catch a snowflake eel from an established reef. You wouldnt believe the cave system it had built under the rocks. Glad I set all the rock on the bottom glass not the sand. So anyway my sea horse tank is now back to being my QT for the next 6 weeks so I can properly rid my tank of ick. At least this will give me time to find some saddles and learn how to properly break my sea horses.

Ok Im done ranting now just wanted to say that even though it was a long day it felt like I had a room full of reefers standing next to me scratching there heads. Thanks for all the help 3reef.

I think we all handle Ich a little differently. A few weeks back my children wanted two new clowns, I figured what the heck. Once they were in the tank they had Ich within 1 day – I mean these little black clown appeared white they had so many spots.

With a great deal of experience I did what I would have told anyone else to do, made sure I had an antibiotic on hand in case it gets worse. We watched these little buggers for a few days and the ich went away on its own. Had I pulled them to a QT the stress would have been worse (In my opinion, I know we all have differences here) and it would/could have gotten to a bad point.

They were stressed from the ride home and the acclimation processes, their defenses fell and they became susceptible to ich – no biggie. It gave the cleaner shrimp something to do I suppose.

I watched for signs of infection but nothing appeared, they kept eating, no clouded eyes, no scratching or bizarre behavior. They have been doing well for nearly a month after this episode.
