I had a long nose hawk fish which unfortunately jumped, but my girlfriend really liked him so I was able to get another but this new guy doesn't eat anything I feed him. The last hawk fish would eat brine and mysis like it was his job but this guy literally watches the flakes or frozen shrimp float by him with no interest.

Now it's been 3 weeks and I'm getting very concerned. I've seen him hunt for little critters which live in the rocks, but he can't possibly survive on that alone so I need to get him to eat something.

Has anyone had this issue / does anyone know any good ideas to get a hawk fish to eat? I'd order some live brine or mysis but I don't know any reputable places online and none of the LFS sell it live =(. Please help!

your lfs may have eggs that you can hatch...
but you can try making a homemade mixture if you would like. that usually entices more than store bought food

Yeah I was hoping someone had some mixture they've tried but not sure how popular long nose hawk fish are either. I usually dose the brine shrimp with selcon solution so if he ate any he's getting some good nutrients. I'm going to drive to a further LFS this weekend to see if they have anything for live food.
Most of the online places I've look are sold out of live batches too, just have eggs. So I might be ordering some eggs soon...

Try fresh sea food. Squid, clams, mussles etc, that may work.
