So I have a story to tell ya’ll…and I am sure I will receive some flack from this but oh well, my skin is very thick. I am a commercial diver; we clean boat hulls for a living. My fiancée mainly cleans them during the winter, water is 52 degrees, and I did it all last winter when he was laid up in bed with cancer, so enough cold water for me. Well anyway, I have had saltwater aquariums for years; however, it was with local fish. Stuff I found under the boats, horned blennies, gobies, spade fish, file fish, triggers, sometime get a big treat and dive offshore and get arrow crabs, little angels just really neat stuff. Anyway, my fiancée had to pick up this boat lift in St. Simons Ga. and drive it back to Beaufort, SC. There was like this whole eco system living on and under it. It just killed me to see him pull in the driveway with this beast, seeing all the growth and then have to clean it. Well for the next 2 hours I went on a hunt to find anything and everything left living on in. Now mind you it got pulled out of the water at 1 p.m. yesterday and drove up I-95 for over 3 hours (200+ miles) and it was now 9:30 p.m. Well I got tons of porcelain crabs, snails, Asian mussels, however, all the fish I found in all the nooks and crannies were dead. I felt awful. Well this morning got up to take the lift down to the landing to scrape off all the barnacles, oysters, gorgonia, and sponge matter and found 4 more fish on the driveway, one was alive! Ran in and put him in my hospital tank. I watched him for a little bit but had to go. Now theoretically this fish has been out of the water, possibly damp, for almost 20 hours. Well went and scraped off the lift (5 hours of scraping) and came home and am happy to report my little horned blenny is alive and well. Anyway, sorry for the long read, but I was able to save this one little fish and it made my day.

    Too funny

There's been more than one time that this has happened when people put LR in their tank and all of the sudden they find a fish.

I once had a birdsnest coral that had 4 clown gobies living in it.

Its amazing how long fish can stay alive for sometimes.

I remember seeing a story on the news last year about some guy who went fishing and caught two trout. He took them home, put one in the fridge and cokked the other one for lunch. The next day he took the fish out of the fridge to cook it and the thing started flapping around on the table. It was still alive after 24hours in the fridge!
