I have a LT that I put in the tank last night and I was curious if my two false percula clowns will take to it. I get mixed reviews from the artiicles that I read.

The might - they might not.

Try sticking a pic of a clown hosting against the tank. Worked for me

False percs are not the common type of clowns that host LTA's. However, in captivity, it has been known to happen. Unfortunately, most false percs are tank raised and know little about the symbiotic relationship with anemones and thus never even go close to LTA's or any anemones for that matter (I have this occuring in my tank as we speak). Some people talk about the old "picture" trick, where you put a picture of a clown in an anemone on the side of the tank hoping that the clowns inside the tank will see it and mimic it. I find this sketchy and don't really believe that its the cause of a host relationship between the two if it happens. But who knows, it's worth a try.

On a side note, LTA's are very picky about where they decide to foot themselves. I hope you have a good 3-4 inches of substrate it can dig its foot in, cause they will float around indefinitely until they have somewhere to fit their enormous base (Some rock structures can also provide this security).

Take a scale size picture of a clown hosting an anemone and attach to your glass. Worked for a friend of mine on a tank raised perc. that had never seen an anemone. He went a little overboard and stuck a few pics on his tank. Not saying it will work as fast, but, worked within a couple of hours. Could take a few days and migh not work for some at all. I think amcarrig has had success with the picture trick also.

I have a pair of false percs. Since I added frogspawn to the tank they have been hosting it. I added a LT to the tank about 5 weeks ago and the female began hosting it the second day. The LT is thriving and opened up large. It was a bit bleached out in the LFS. She protects the LT with all of her might...8)
