Hey guys its been awhile, work work work ya know! The 120 is doing great, added lots of things, lost a few, biggest loss was my pink spotted sandsifter goby, he was reaaaaally old and never did his job, but i miss him all the same. We just got saltwater in at my work too so i am stoked i dont have to drive 20-45 min to hit a LFS that sells saltwater fish and such, now i can just bring what i want home with me when i leave! and i can special order whatever my heart desires hahaha. Now on to the exciting news! My stores owner is hooking me up with a 300 gallon acrylic tank!!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!! i have been on the market for one pretty much since i upgraded to the 120 lol. i cannot wait! they are bringing it from the warehouse to my store so i can grab some friends and bring it home and clean it up (its been sitting in the warehouse for a while, not too many people in the area looking for a 300 i guess lol) and somehow get it into my house...I may be ripping out a window or doorway to do this. Im planning on doing this as a room divider, but first i want to redo my floors, reseal the porch (it started leaking in the room that is becoming the sump room in the basement) and paint said room (because basements look way less creepy when they have a fresh coat of paint lol). and this is all needing done before we start work on the stand and canopy...maybe, im so excited i may just say forget the floors we will work around the tank haha! I will start a build thread when i actually get the tank and start working on it, and this is going to take months im sure before i even get my livestock in it, but its exciting! i have so many plans in my head i cant wait to try. my main worry right now is a pump. anyone have any suggestions on a good, trustworthy (and hopefully not to painful on the wallet) pump with enough head to get water from my basement to about 15 feet above it to where the tank will be sitting? i have a while to find one but i would like to have some ideas. Anyway thats my exciting news. we just got a new manager so i am hoping to convince her to give me more then one day off a week, which is something my previous manager wouldnt do, so that i will have more time to get this up and running! lucky for me Joe is on board with my obsession and is more than willing to help do the building part, he already has stand and canopy plans (after i showed him a few pics of what i was thinking lol) and one of my best friends is an engineer thats also into reef keeping (thanks to me lol) so she will come in handy too...and all i had to do was promise her she could swim in the tank when we do a leak test in the yard hahaha!

Thanks guys, its good to be back! man i miss the old days when i only worked the one job...it feels like i had all the time in the world haha, but even if i wanted to i couldnt quit either one of them...i love both of my jobs and most people arnt lucky enough to like the one they have lol! i will keep you guys posted, i am hoping to have the tank by the end of the weekend, but itll prob be closer to the middle of next week. and i always more then double what ive got when i upgrade haha. i am hoping getting a tank this big will sate my lust for a huge reef (i mean jeeze people eyes pop out of there head when they come to my house and see the 120, but it just doesnt do it for me lol) and i wont feel the need to upgrade again to say a 500 gallon lol. my floors wont hold that and we are even bracing it for the 300 just to be safe, so a 300 will have to do as my last upgrade. and dont worry i will find something to do with all the room haha, i have waaaay to much rock in the 120 so im hoping i wont have to get much more for the 300 because im going a different route with the scape, and i think im going bare bottem because i have found that i HATE sand lol! I havnt actually seen the tank in person yet, only pics of it wrapped in shrink wrap with nothing next to it to compare it to...so im sure i am undervisualizing its size, and when i see it in person i will cry from joy hahaha!

wow that's a long read but awesome news. That 300 is going to be a money pit, lol Tanks the cheap part. But awesome going to be a sweet build. Great thing that your store is doing saltwater and you can use your employee discount.

no livestock thats ok, lol that'll probably be for the best keep you from spending all your paycheck. The dry goods equipment etc is what'll cost the big bucks, a nice sized skimmer, lights, pumps, ohh its so much fun building a tank.

Yes it is! All that stuff I will get a discount on haha. An as far as lighting I think I'm going to use the fixture I have plus two mh pendents an lucky for my my euroreef is rated for up to 300 gallons but I may go with the skimmer we just I in at work. Idk yet I need to do some homework on t first.but joe is talking about building a huge skimmer since he saw a thread on t once like 2 years ago haha. I guess we will see when it comes time to cross that bridge. Idk I have all these ideas but not sure if they will work til I try them. You k ow if at forst tou dont succed....THATS the fun part lol

Well apparently I lied because I got a sweet deal on a new bta at work. 1/2 price. I guess it's all about who you make friends with lol. It attached very quickly to. Hopefully that will attract my female clown and she can give my hammers a break lol.
