The black spots are too big for brook or black ich. They most likely have been hosting in zoos/palys, which can really wreck havoc with coloring.
Misbars come from breeding a true with a false. So technically, they are a hybrid of the two.

the LFS by me has a clown with the black spots, he's been there for over a month now and he's still rockin the black spots. he swims and looks fine except for the black spots, idk freckles? i think it adds character. $50 for the pair isn't bad, i was never a clown person until i got my pair, i love them, very personable. I'd do it. they are cute and the misbar is sweet

if they are both the same size, you may not have one of each sex. with clowns, the larger of the two becomes the female and the smaller the male.

I contacted Vince from ORA and he confirmed that the pair are indeed false osc. misbars. He also stated that the blackmarks are "burn stings" from hosting something else besides the normal anenome. There are no diseases and the fishes are eating well

False Ocellaris clowns? Is that like a double negative meaning they are percs?

    LOL

I think you meant that they are false percs, aka ocellaris.

Not to my knowledge... It is simply a morph, just like fancy guppies. Same thing with Onyx, picasso, black, teardrop or naked clowns. They are all OCELARIS clowns but variations of them, or at least thats what every breeder inluding ORA has told me...
