Is this a starfish? My tank is less than a week old and I'm wondering if I have enough of whatever I need in there to sustain it.

Awesome! It's an asterina star. They live on detritus and particles that you can't see. Just keep doing what you're doing and t will be fine :D

If I'm reading correctly they could eat my corals once I get some.

If thats a little white asterina then no. Watch for different colors. They eat dead tings so a lot of people assume that because theres a dead spot on a coral and one of those is there that the star ate the coral. Its coincidental at best.

there are some that do some coral but for the most of us who have them in our tank they are just rock grazers. out of the 200 or so in my tank none have even nibbled at any coral.
