Ok so here is th thing... When I was adding my new coral to my tank THAT I WONT TELL WHAT IT IS TILL I POST PICS BUT IS AWESOME LOOKING....

I kinda poured water to my lights ( $&$&$&). I dried them and tried to turn them on.. Luckily they did but they made a hissing noice and my white light took longer to turn on.. I turned off inmidiatelly and it seems that the thing were it's connected kinda melted the paint or something...


So I'm planning on getting a new ligh fixture but idk what to buy.. This is for my 29G.. I keep all sorts of coral so...

Can anyone be kind enough to give me a link to a place where I can buy them lights? My budget is of 300 max... Can I get any lights with this price?
With moonlights included.. If possible and within budget...

Thanks in advance guys.. I'm going to have o be monitoring my fixture until iget my new one.. If this lights were to not work tomorrow how long do I have till my coral/ anemone start dying?

You probably have a week before you start having problems.

Look at Hellolights for their retrofit kits. They have t5ho in your range. Don't know about MH tho.

I'm not sure on the requirements of lights.... I have all sorts of coral and I want to be able to keep light demanding coral.. Again my tank is a regular 29G.
When I bought my fixture I got it from my lfs and he took care of the requirements.. I would buy it from him but I kinda need it asap because this lights can die on me. I'm probably paying overnight shipping..

I am going to get the Nova Extreme SLR T5HO.(Sufficient for sponges, some aneomes, sps, some lps corals, etc.) Its $212 for the 48" I've been recommended this light by several people on 3reef. Do you want MH or HOT5's?

 

I'M guessing MH are much better when keeping coral? Lol as you can see this isn't my strong subject...
Do those Fit my tank? Do you have a 29G as well? Can you send me the link to those exact lights please?

As long as I have 175watts total then I can keep any coral I want? If so I'll search for wattage only?

 

I do have a 29g as a matter of fact. I don't have corals in it But my 55g will. Your tank is a 29g. too. It being 30" long, I assume you need a 24" light? Here's the link to this light fixture.

It's sort of a huge debate as to which work better. MH used to always be the lamp of choice, but as tech. has gotten better, T5Ho's are easily competing for the spot light. More and more people are choosing T5HO lighting nowadays. It's Less expensive and creates less heat, while still being suitable for most corals.
