It's most likely a baby Pocillopora damicornis. It's a 1/4 round right now. FWIW, I don't have any of that coral in this tank, just my frag tank connected to it.

Sorry for the bad pic, but it's kinda hard to snap a pic of something on the upper corner of your front panel :D I had to do it at night with a flass.

Ya I didn't know what to really call it. I had a similar thing happen with my Pocillopora. What is it doing? I thought SPS usually had male and female spawn that mix in the water and then make new coral. I never had a spawn. So what is the Pocillopora doing to reproduce?

the nasty :D IIRC the spawn is of a fertilized egg, there's no male/female. I bet I'm wrong, as usually when I post something I kinda of remember, I'm usually wrong.

<time for my beat down, who's first :D>

To borrow a paragraph from Eric Borneman's "Aquarium Corals" ISBN 1-890087-47-5

Page 81-81 chapter 5 "secret lives"

    Sexual Reproduction

Brooders are usually hermaphrodites and self-ferlilize within their grastrovascular cavity, realeasing planulea into the water when they are ready. A minority, or approximately 25-40% of coral speicies, reproduce by brooding larvae, and these corals typically release planulae multiple times during a year. Some corals, such as POCILLOPORA species can produce and release brooded planulae from mature colonies each month. :D
