    Me:"I've been looking at colleges.."

Dad: "Which one are you looking at now?"

Me: "It's called James Cook University"

    Dad: "Never heard of it.."

    Me:"That's because it's in Australia"

Dad: "Are you out of your mind?!"

    :(:(

Im enrolled at UW Whitewater for next year. I will be double majoring in marine biology and freshwater ecology. Atleast thats the plan. Lol I am in Wisconsin for three years then I transfer to Deakin University in Warnabool Australia. Check it out. The prices are not terrible and UWW pays to send you to Australia. You just continue paying standard tuition. Its a really nice deal.

Wow I'm certainly looking into that. Do I have to double major in order to do that?

Just means you didn't do enough research to know how to respond to dads gut reaction. I don't believe the cost of the program there with room and board is any more than any good program in the states, and it is located smack in the middle of the GBR - where better to get a marine biology education?

You're right. That's actually just what I was thinking.

This would be a great experience, if I could get the student loans rather then them being in his name.

He's just about wiped out for money. Been going to school part time for the past 6 yrs, Sister is almost to her 4th yr at BGSU & brother will be going to college this upcoming fall.

But actually I think he would have been alright with it to begin with, except that he already knew that a 1-way flight to Au costs $3,000.
