I'm starting to see a little small coat of algae on some of my rocks and was looking for a cleaning crew package. I have a 60 gallon tank with a clown and blue tang and some mushrooms and an open brain. I found a package on reefs2go that includes:

    20 Nassarius Snails
    20 Cerith Snails
    10 XLG Cerith Snails
    5 Turbo Snails
    20 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs
5 Mexican Red Leg Hermit Crabs

Is this to much, not enough, or just right for my tank size. I already have a sand shifting star that takes care of any brown algae. Any suggestion on different sites or packages would be welcomed. Reefs2go offers that above package for 50-60 bucks plus free shipping.

Sounds like a lot. I picked up about 20 tiny blue legged hermits and 2 snails for my 55gal and they cleaned it in a week and it was covered in algae.

i love everything that you have picked out, and i love 10 XLG Cerith Snails i use to have 17-20 of the XLG Cerith Snails and i would get less nassarius i think they die to much, or they flip over and boom they are.... maybe get like 3 more turbo snails.

Agreed on the XLG Ceriths. They do a great job on the larger algae (like GHA). However I think you are mistaking Nassarius for Nerites. Nassarius have no trouble at all flipping themselves over. They usually intentionally throw themselves off the glass to get to the sandbed quicker :)

Nerites can have a hard time flipping themselves over though. But give them some time and they almost always will.

I personally went with a hermit crab free crew (although I do have 2 in my 46, either mistaken for a snail from John, or HH). They will kill snails if they outgrow their shell, and have had some other bad stories about them.

Both are good! I prefer reefcleaners, prob a touch cheaper.

I'd drop the turbos, they need ALOT of food/algae and will bull doze through your tank knocking stuff over. I used to like them, but have lost some corals due to being knocked over. And if you don't have a bad algae problem, they'll die unless spot fed. I no longer have any. Hermits can be annoying too the same way, I however, like my hermits still....barely;)
