I'm looking for buy a reef tank. While searching online I found an acrylic tank with hang on back overflow boxes. Since than I can not find the website that makes those tanks. Do you guys know of anybody or website that makes/sells these tanks.

The overflow was not a syphon. The tank had those cuts that looked like the regular internal overflow.

HOB overflow boxes are either siphon or Weir style overflows. You really want an internal overflow if you're going with a new tank, though.

    - I actually do not agree with that as there is zero difference between the two as long as you're not using the siphon.

Wait, I just looked up the Weir system. I do not think this is what I want. At least the results that come up are different than what I thought Weir would be. All I want to have is this: Take the internal overflow everyone is using and glue/stick it on the back of the tank with the cuts being the tank wall as oppose the overflow.

    Btw, please elaborate.

I think what you are asking about would be a coats to coast overflow using the bean animl or herbie designs?

^ Yes. Looking at Google Images it is Herbie Overflow. An inverted internal overflow if you will. The box is on the outside, but the principal is the same. I would make a long line/cut in the back wall. Maybe even two cuts skimming the water into one box.

For an external, overflow a rimless tank would work best, but it could be done with a framed tank too. It would just take a bit of work.

I see them on eBay a lot, however, they are mainly frag tanks, or very shallow DT's.
