    Hey Everyone,

I am currently in the process of setting up my new 75 gallon reef, but was starting to think about what corals I want to eventually add to my current "inventory".

Right now, I have a ton of greens, oranges, and a few yellow, but I am lacking any kind of red, purple, and especially blue.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Please note- I am trying to stay away from Milliporas and Acroporas and am definitely not interested in basic mushrooms (Actinodiscus).

    Thanks!

most of the stuff that pops into my mind are acros and mili.

There are a bunch of chalices that you can get that will have those colors in them. Not sure if you are wanting chalice.

Another options are some of the montis.........superman monti, reverse sunset, pokerstar, and some of the plating montis.

LPS option: cyphastrea are really cool IMO and there are variety of colors. I have a purple one with green polyps.

Brains, plate corals, zoanthids. Dont dismiss mushrooms......there are quite a bit of colorations in some of them. I am in the process of doing just a mushroom and zoanthid tank.

sympodiums are amazing. Definately something to look into

I have a very large lithophylin that is blue with green mouths. He is one of my favorite corals, but it is kinda rare.

I really like monti's and considered a superman monti and I will most likely be getting a frag of idaho grape monti cap from Bbrian once my 75g is set up. I will look into the cyphastrea and do you have any "designer names" for the chalice varieties?

my favorite chalice is the bubblegum chalice, but miami hurricanes, lava chalice are some others.

Unfortunately chalices are one coral you will see names change quite a bit on as they are classed very closely. I am bad on chalice names, just know what I like! :)

Yea, I typically don't like buying things just for a name, but it is good to use them as a starting point. Sometimes you can type in the designer name and find another less sought after coral that you like better and it costs less.

Montis come in anything but vivid blue. I had a blue/green cyphatrea from tyree. Acans can get alot of blues reds and purples.
