    I honestly think your 16 gallon was way overstocked. Anemones need well estabolished tanks. You can get Nass snails to stir up your sand bed. Disrupting it most likey caused your problem. also if one of those anemones died they could have poisoned the whole tank. Heavy metals from tap also could have contributed. Fragenstein uses tap, and will swear on, but everyone's tap is different. Have you had your analyzed? Go RO/DI if can splurge. Good luck.

    had an r/o unit once but sold it. so Is there any on the market today that don't waste alot of water to produce r/o? I already go through alot of water dealing with my koi business, but willing to do so if that what it takes.
