Hey friends. Pulling my hair out regarding LED lighting. I purchased a Red Sea Max 250 tank last year and for the most part I love it. I did however retrofit the T5 lights with some of the 36 inch Sunbrite bulbs and haven't been happy. And needless to say my SPS aren't happy. I was looking at Reef Brites and the person there said their LEDS probably couldn't handel SPS over a long period of time. Cudos to Joy there for her honesty!! Wish I would have had that sort of honesty when I bought the SunBrites.

Wondering if anyone has any sort of product info on LED's that offer enough light to grow even SPS. Again, I can't do Halide due to the heat within that plastic canopy system.

    Thanks for any info.

You could do some par30's from Boostled. They could provide the exta punch in a few areas depending on the tanks dimensions. Do you know the dimensions?

I would look into the Orphek fixtures, or the new PR-125 bulb they are coming out with soon.

When it comes to LED lighting, basically the more info you get on the product(of course, it being good things), the more you can trust the product to work well.

Ex. Orphek gives out tons of info on all their stuff. From spectrograph, par/pur charts, etc. They also tell you what they do to make their products different, such as making their own diodes specifically for use in aquariums.

Take a look at some of our LED sponsors, they all have threads that may help you if you read through them. And ask questions on there! That's what they're here for!

    Hope this helps
