I have a friend that let his tank go and is willing to give me all his livestock. He has a bad outbreak of purple slime, manjos and who know what else. There are tourch corals, two BTA's, zoos, acans, a few SPS and chalices. Probably $800-1000 in coral. I don't have a QT tank and am scared to put them in my reef. I'm looking for a low price way to treat these corals and put them in my tank. What products and methods can I use? Thanks

There are several good dips available. Coral RX is a very good one.

I would not put any rock from the tank in yours. As for the corals, I would have no problem with as long as a good dip is done.

Be very very careful with Mojano Anemones!
I ignored a couple that were way down in back of my rockwork and they wiped my tank out in a short period of time.

This is how it used to look:

and this is how it looked once the Mojanos multiplied and stung all my SPS and LPS corals:

I am still restocking 2 years later and being much more careful about what I place in the display.

Mojanos have few predators if any, I have not found anything that eats them. I pulled all the rock out and cooked it for 6 weeks then sprayed the Mojanos that survived with distilled white vinegar and still have stragglers I am dealing with today. In the tank I inject them with kalk paste and that works well but is a PITA.

As far as dipping corals or treating them, I use Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, Interceptor, Flatwom Exit, Lugols and others depending on what I am treating for. None cures mojanos but work on pests.

Joe's Juice works great for mojano's or aiptasia-x.

As for the purple slime, increase flow and decreased light. That stuff doesn't like flow go total darkness for 3 days.

I used CoralRX Pro as my dip. Just follow the directions and inspect the corals using a magnifier of some kind. The red slim will most likely die off during the dip as it is actually a bacteria and not a true algae.
