I want something easy to care for. I was letting my clown stay with a friend who has 2 clowns. Well when he was at my friends he was schooling with his clowns. Now that he is back home he seems lonely. I want him to be happy again and don't really want more clowns. So, I thought a good bubble tip would do nicely. Any tips on care and lighting ect. would be great thanks!

t-5 lighting and above. anything under and he will more than likely die. Just because you get an anenome doesnt mean there will be hosting going on. alot of tank bred clowns havent a clue as to what an anenome is for and wont have anything to do with it. good luck and before you get one please do alot of reasearch even outside of here. It is wise to study animals and fish before droppin them in your tank. I have a Rose Anenome and a gold band maroon clown and they are a pair....sometimes it works often it doesnt/ hand feeding as most do is a something thatdoes not need to be done. there life support is light and good quality water. How long has your tank been up and running and what lights do you have. And how many watts and how large is your tank.

    good luck

Actually I have a tomato clown that took to a green bubble, and a pair of false clowns that took to another bubble green. It is natural for them to take to one that is for that specific clown, bubbles seem to be most popular for clowns. A bubble really metal halides to fair very well and t5 are acceptable( I use both). I also was told that clowns don't mix well . My tomato is about 5 inches long to my false clowns are about 3/4 of an inch matted pair and they all get along. I do have a 135 gallon tank maybe why.

The size of the tank is the reason they have adapted to each other. I on the other hand only have a 55 and it would be a war zone. Wish I could swing a tank that size. Must be nice. And you are right about the lights. Mine is a 6 bulb t-5 with 4 18K and 2 420nm

well I have t8 lighting till tax time lol.. but it will be awhile before I get an anemone even after I get a good light. I have a 125 gal setup and has been running for about 3 years now. My clown is isn't tank raised. I have had him for 2 years he was fine till I let him stay at my friends now that he is at home he won't leave a the corner of the tank unless i'm feeding. I may just give him to my friend and buy a mated pair. Edit: I have 208 watts of lighting.
