I have a 150 gal saltwater live rock tank and lost two of my fish about a month ago when I went on vacation. (I wish I could find someone who really knew about aquariums when I go out of town). I want to add some fish to my tank and am looking for some advice. I have a fairly aggressive tank with medium size fish 5"' to 7"'. I currently have a porcupine puffer (my favorite) , a lunare wrasse, a regal blue tang, a yellow tang, a tomato clown, a large hermit crab and a really cute striped kuhli loach.

I would love to add more yellow tangs for the color, but am afraid of their territorial preferences. In the past I have minimized the territorial problems by rearranging the live rock just before I add new fish. It seems to disrupt their "home base". I have not been sucessful with lions over any kind of reasonable time periods.

Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated.

    150 gal. rectang. 48" X 24" x 36" high; reservoir filtration; Eurofil 125; 2 - Magdrive 950 water pumps; 200W heater; protein skimmer; ultraviolet sterilizer; 3 sets of power compact 96W lights

Thanks. I tried a Naso tang and had trouble getting him to eat. He died about two months after I put him in.

What about other clowns or wrasses? How large do I need to get my new fish with the other fish being so large?

    Lunare Wrasse - 7"
    Porcupine puffer - 5"
    Regal tang - 6"
    Yellow tang - 5"
    Tomato clown - 4"

I am a huge fan of triggerfish. There are varieties from meanest fish in home systems to fairly reef safe. Lots of different sizes and styles to choose from. And will fit right in with your bunch. Miniatus groupers are cool to.

+1 on the triggers. A Naso would be too docile IMO. They are really peaceful fish, and that could be a lot of the reason why you didnt have luck with your last one.
I would just make sure to get something that isn't too small

Thanks, I will look into different varieties of trigger. I am not familiar with the miniatus grouper. One of the first fish I had was a panther grouper. He was wonderful except he never stopped growing. At 8" and growing I had to return him to my LFS. What is the size fo the miniatus grouper? Will it keep growing forever?
