I want to test my tap water.

I am looking at this particular one on eBay

I don't have one of those but I would recommend this one. It's a couple bucks more but you get 2 TDS meters built in so you can test your input water to your RO/DI as well as your output from the unit to make sure that your filters are still working and don't need to be changed, it affixes easily to the RO unit and takes about 5 minutes to install.

    Thanks screw tape.

I'm just looking for a more mobile one that I can test my tap water with. I've gotten real curious as to what my tap reads.

It will read your tap water going into the RO unit. I have a hand held one but use my inline one more.

    Resolution: 10 ppm<- what does that mean? This means it reads in increments of 10 (10 20 30) not 10 11 12

    Accuracy (@20°C/68°F): ±2 % F.S<-how does this work for my 80[/SIZE]°F tank?
It has automatic temp compensation--means its calibrated at @20C/68F but it will automatically adjust the reading within 41 to 122F, so you can use your 80 degree water no problem

Hope that helps explain a little bit.

So does that mean if my TDS is actually, say, 4, then I will get a reading of either 0 or 10?

If my TDS is 32 the reading will be 30 or 40?

That's kind of crappy. Is that about as good as it gets for these pen style meters?
