Well its that time I am looking to change out my t5s for some new bulbs.
I know there are many threads on this but I'm still up in the air about what combos to get.

I don't mind the blue look but not too blue. I was looking at ati bulbs but there are so many.

    I have the sundial 48".

    any suggestions would be great!

I like 2 UVL Super Actinics, 1 ATI AquaBlue (the 12,000K bulb) and maybe a blue plus. I currently run 2 UV superactincs, 1 UV actinic white, 1 Geissmann 11,000K and two AquaScience Blue bulbs.

    I like my combo...I run:
    UVL Super actinic
    ge 6500k
    ATI Aquablue 12k
    UVL 454nm

Blue White look, no yellow hue, colors pop nice.

What type of coral are you keeping in the tank? If you are keeping a lot of SPS I would try avoiding any 420nm or "true" actinics, they have poor PAR output generally.

I would try something like 2 ATI Blue Plus, One Aquablue and one wildcard bulb, maybe a UVL Aquasun, another Aquablue or KZ Fiji Purple or something, not sure on the output of the Fiji Purple though.

Just some ideas for ya. Also the order in which you arrange the bulbs will have some impact on how the tank looks overall so keep that in mind.

I have this in my Sun Dial

2 of the UVL super actinics with 2 of the UVL actinic whites

When just the actinics are on, I love the shade of blue. When all 4 bulbs are on, it's kind of pink... I have lots of coraline though?

Yeh I want to stay away from the pinkish look, I had a uvl 12000k attinic and hated it.
How are the uvl super actinics?
