Looking to get some snails to help keep my algae in check. Any recommendations/ advice? I plan to get a burrowing fish so if I get a snail that also burrows is that going to be a problem?

What kind of algae and where is it growing?

Turbo grazers are good if you have a good amount of algae growing on your rocks, and the do an okay number on the glass too. I would start with one, no more than two for your tank size, and see how that does.

Fighting conches (IMO, the nicest of the conches and smaller too) are great sand sifters and diatom/algae-eaters, but they are a bit pricey. And again keep it minimal. May be around two.

Nassarius snails are great sand sifters, but don't do much for algae.

I just picked up a brown barred goby, aka marine dragon goby, who sifts sand through his gills. He is so far the only thing keeping diatom from taking over the bottom of my tank. Check this post from Omard, and also Brownbarred Goby (Amblygobius phalaena) is a good resource, if you haven't decided which fish.

To answer your question, sand-burrowing snails and fish will be fine together. The only time I've seen a fish (pink spotted goby) not-so-thrilled about a snail, is when one of my turbo grazers camped out over the entrance to his burrow and the fish couldn't get in. And all that happened was the fish hung out in plain view for a little bit, plus he had a backup burrow anyway.
