I got these 2 rocks of polyps about a month or so ago. I noticed one had some pink to it butthe rest of it was dirt brown. The rock next to it was totally dirt brown, but he gave it to me cause he thought it was dieing. So all I knew was I was getting a rock of pinkish and brown zoanthus($16) and a rock of dirt brown protopalys(FREE). Most people wouldn't wanna get something brown, but most people dont realize what they see in the store isnt always the true color of it. If I see something brown in the store, it makes me look closer at it.Reguardless of brown it is, you can see small patterns or different shades of brown, which is a dead give away that its going to have more then one color to it when it colors up. I have since had them in a tank that Im using to color up corals. I have Identified the 2 different kinds of zoanthus on that one rock, and the protopalys are still coloring up. They are all still coloring up for that matter, but you can definetly tell what the zoanthus are going to be.

This first pic, is both rocks when I ordered them.

Here is a pic of them I took from above yesterday.

This the rock of the green protopalys, they are not the typical green and brown button polyps. Notice around the mouth how its solid green, only few are like that. The white balance is thrown off cause that rock is right under some egg crate which is making the white balance turn out blueish. But anyways, here is the pic.

yeah yeah, I know the pics are blurry, I should have cut all of the flow off before I took the pics.

But yeah, for $16 I got about 50ish Devils Armor and 30ish Armor of God polyps!

Sp my point is, if its brown in the store, snatch it up! There is no telling what it will turn out to be,

Nice! I've also had luck. I bought few pieces of LR for my tank and found purple buttons on it. Just a small colony! It has grown and now there are more than 40 small polyps :D I'm very excited!

Thats an awesome deal! The devils armor rings should turn hot pink under bright lighting, they are one of my favorite polyps.
