    Greetings,
I bought some live rock a few months ago and this "branch" of rock had a little guy coming out of the bottom then dissapeared for a few weeks...then it appeared in this fork of the upper branch..it finnally got big enough to photo...a little one is visable below it also.
    what might it be?
Its kind of cool looking...the picture does not show the color well, but it is a pale green/blue in the center, with rings around its strings/arms/feeders?...and has the charicteristics of a duster?
    Thanx everyone..

Can you post another picture that we can open and zoom. Can't quite make it out from the existing pic.

The pic is not very clear, but it looks like manjero. this is a type of aptasia. It will take over your tank.

With the new pics, it definately looks like aiptasia. Aiptasia is tricky, some of it is very cool looking. It is not cool when they sting your fish or coral.

Well now, this seems to discribe it......
What to do next is my question... : (

"Aiptasia, or Tube, Glass, Rock Anemones are thought by many saltwater aquarium hobbyists to be a beautiful addition to their reef tank when they unexpectedly begin to sprout out of live rock. However, this attitude generally changes once the aiptasia go into their reproductive mode and take over the entire tank.
The first step an inexperienced hobbyist takes is to cut off or pull the anemones from the rock and substrate. Unfortunately this usually leads to a population explosion, as each of the microscopic pieces which are left behind in the tank sprout into another anemone."

There's products available at your lfs. There are also some home remedies. I like the commercial products.
